Teacher Support
Training
The Cyber Pipeline program includes an engaging and robust professional development program designed to prepare a teacher with no background in computer science to teach the CC 110 and/or CC 210 courses in under a year. The training is delivered asynchronously online, allowing you to fit it into your schedule. Additionally, there is a synchronous (but also available as a recording) online seminar series held the first Friday of each month. Finally, teachers engaging in the program have continuous access to mentoring by Computer Science and Pedagogy experts drawn from K-State faculty through instant messaging, email, and video collaboration.
Professional Development
This professional development is offered in a partnership between the K-State Computer Science Department and the College of Education, and awards 10 graduate credit hours that can also be applied to a Graduate Interdisciplinary Certificate in Computer Science Education* and/or a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Computer Science Education.

Ongoing Teacher Support
The Cyber Pipeline program offers multiple avenues for helping teachers in our program strengthen their understanding of computer science and improve their teaching practices. This includes on-demand direct mentoring and coaching from Computer Science faculty at Kansas State University, a monthly webinar series, and membership in the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA).
Direct Mentoring is offered online via direct messaging, email, and video conferencing. Rural Cyber Pipeline schools who also engage with K-State's Rural Education Center may also receive (at no cost to the school) a telepresence robot. Teachers in our professional development program will also visit the K-State campus and work with us face-to-face for a two-day (all expenses paid) summer workshop. Additionally, we will conduct periodic visits to our partner schools.
Monthly Webinars covering commonly asked questions, details of the Cyber Pipeline program, pedagogical strategies, recruitment strategies, and many other subjects are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Descriptions of upcoming seminars and recordings of archived seminars are available on our webinar page.
The Computer Science Teachers’ Association is a national organization supporting K-12 teachers of computer science. The state of Kansas also has a regional chapter which serves as a professional learning community for Kansas teachers working to integrate computer science into their teaching. This is an invaluable community for sharing ideas and strategies. In addition, the Cyber Pipeline provides one year’s membership in CSTA+.
Webinars
We host an online monthly webinar series covering topics of interest to the K-12 education community at 4-5pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Past webinars are available as a video archive.
